Welcome to 309online.com, PennDOT's official Web site for the reconstruction of the Route 309 expressway in Montgomery County.

PennDOT in 2010 will complete reconstruction of the Route 309 Expressway when it finishes rebuilding the roadway between Highland Avenue and its terminus at Bethlehem Pike in Lower Gwynedd Township. Reconstruction of the expressway south of Highland Avenue has been completed, including rebuilding of major interchanges at Fort Washington and at Route 152/Easton Road near Glenside. During reconstruction, we'll keep two lanes open in each direction wherever possible on the Route 309 Expressway during peak travel times. However, the southbound expressway remains in a single lane around-the-clock from Bethlehem Pike to Norristown Road/Springhouse due to physical constraints within the work zone.

Off-peak and weekend lane restrictions will be in place at times in other areas during reconstruction of the main line expressway. A number of on- and off-ramps also have been closed during construction. Speed limits are reduced through the work areas as well.
