Welcome to 309online.com, PennDOT's official Web site for the reconstruction of the Route 309 expressway in Montgomery County.

PennDOT in 2008 continues reconstruction of the mainline expressway between Cheltenham Avenue and its terminus at Bethlehem Pike in Lower Gwynedd. Construction continues at two major interchanges at Fort Washington and at Route 152/Easton Road near Glenside.  See the Project Overview for more details.

During reconstruction, we'll keep two lanes open in each direction wherever possible on the Route 309 Expressway during peak travel times. However, the northbound expressway remains limited to one lane around-the-clock between Route 152/Easton Road and Paper Mill Road and southbound from Bethlehem Pike to Norristown Road/Springhouse.

Off-peak and weekend lane restrictions will be in place at times in other areas during reconstruction of the main line expressway. A number of on- and off-ramps also will be closed during construction. Speed limits will be reduced through the work areas as well.

We'll keep you posted here as we develop further details. And if you'd like, we'll send those details, as well as breaking news on this project, to you through our e-mail subscription service. Just click on the Subscribe Today box to the left, and fill out and submit the simple form. Our technology will do the rest.

In the meantime, please bookmark www.309online.com and stop back periodically for all the information you'll need to safely navigate the coming years of construction on Route 309. Feel free to Contact Us with any comments or suggestions on how we can best serve you with this Website, or any other aspect of our operation.
